Pleurotomaria suessii

Gastropoda - Pleurotomariidae

Discussion

NOTE: this name was used for the paratypes diagnosing the genus Cyclostomaria. However, recovery of original paratype material of P. suessii (including the current lectotype) showed that Szabo's material was misassigned. SO, the material around which Szabo based the concept of Cyclostomaria was put in it's own species, which now is the type of Cyclstomaraia. (Whew!) I guess that's legal: huzzah for some flexibility in Linnaean taxonomy!
