Notonecta deichmuelleri was named by von Schlechtendal (1894). It is a compression fossil.
It was synonymized subjectively with Soevenia heydeni by Statz (1950); it was recombined as Anisops deichmuelleri by Štys and Říha (1975) and Nel and Paicheler (1992).
