Taxonomy
Sinuatella was named as a genus. It is not extant. Its type is Leptaena sinuata. It is the type genus of Sinuatellidae.

It was reranked as Productus (Sinuatella) by Reed (1944).

It was assigned to Productus by Reed (1944); to Sinuatellidae by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960); to Institellinae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
