Taxonomy
Spyridiophora was named by Cooper and Stehli (1955) [Sepkoski's age data: P Asse P Guad-l Sepkoski's reference number: 963,1066]. Its type is Spyridiophora distincta.

It was assigned to Spyridiophoridae by Muir-Wood and Cooper (1960); to Spyridiophorini by Williams et al. (2000); and to Strophomenida by Sepkoski (2002).
