Taxonomy
Westratia curtipes was named by Rasnitsyn (1990). Its type specimen is PIN 1847/544, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Karabon Creek, Nerchinskiy Zavod district (PIN collection 1847), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large siltstone in the Gidarinskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
