Taxonomy
Angarosphex niger was named by Rasnitsyn (1990). Its type specimen is PIN 1742/499, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Turga (PIN collection 1742), which is in an Aptian lacustrine mudstone in the Turga Formation of the Russian Federation.
