H. J. Finlay 1939 | Test small, calcareous, finely perforate, strongly built and compact, compressed-cylindrical, biserial for nearly whole shell, but with small initial triserial part and blunt apex, heavily sculptured by irregular plicae and pustules, aperture large, Loxostomid. Microspheric form shows triserial character strongly and is theoretically like the Cretaceous. The heavy ornament, wide aperture and type of growth are unlike Virgulina; perhaps nearest Sagrina, but this is much more compressed with extensive slit aperture and vertical linear sculpture. |
