Taxonomy
Mesojassoides gigantea was named by Oman (1937). Its type specimen is USNM 75521, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is West Fork San Arroyo Creek, which is in a Maastrichtian marine sandstone in the Fox Hills Formation of Colorado.
