Deinodryinus velteni was named by Guglielmino and Olmi (2011). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Staatliches Museum fur Naturkunde (SMNS) collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
