Phanaeus labreae

Taxonomy
Palaeocopris labreae was named by Pierce (1946). Its type specimen is LACMIP 3059, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rancho La Brea, Pit 81 (LACMIP 89), which is in a Rancholabrean tar tar in California.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Miller et al. (1981); it was recombined as Phanaeus labreae by Tarasov et al. (2016).
