Taxonomy
Clarkella was named by Walcott (1908) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-u O Aren Sepkoski's reference number: 1,4]. It is not extant. Its type is Polytoechia montanensis. It is the type genus of Clarkellidae.
It was assigned to Pentamerida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Clarkellidae by Williams et al. (2002).
