Taxonomy
Hydrobiites longus was named by Ponomarenko (1990). Its type specimen is PIN 3922/2, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Kharanor (PIN collection 3922), which is in a Barremian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Kutinskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
