Gypiduloides was named by Savage (1995) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1215 Savage in Savage and Baxter].

It was assigned to Gypidulidae by Savage and Baxter (1995); to Pentamerida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Gypidulinae by Williams et al. (2002).
