Taxonomy
Abbrevikhosara ovoidea was named by Aristov (2013). Its type specimen is PIN 3840/1249, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Isady Locality (Mutovino, PIN collection 3840), which is in a Wuchiapingian lacustrine siltstone in the Poldarsa Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Abbrevikhosara.
