Chrestotella danae

Taxonomy
Miamia danae was named by Scudder (1868). It is an impression. Its type locality is Mazon Creek (University of Illinois collection), which is in a Westphalian D deltaic mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois. It is the type species of Chrestotella.

It was recombined as Gerarus danae by Scudder (1885), Scudder (1885) and Melander (1903); it was recombined as Chrestotes danae by Handlirsch (1906) and Handlirsch (1906); it was recombined as Chrestotella danae by Handlirsch (1919) and Handlirsch (1922).
