Pseudoconchidium was named by Nikiforova and Sapelnikov (1971) [Sepkoski's age data: ]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Virgianinae by Williams et al. (2002); to Pentamerida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Virgianidae by Jin et al. (2006).
