Taxonomy
Terebratula cuneata was named by Risso (1826). It is extant. It is the type species of Argyrotheca.

It was recombined as Rhynchotreta cuneata by Hall (1879), Bassett and Cocks (1974) and Rubel and Rozman (1977); it was recombined as Argyrotheca cuneata by Bitner (1990), Kroh (2003), García Ramos (2004), Dulai (2007), Pavézková et al. (2013), Bitner et al. (2013), Bitner et al. (2013), Bitner and Motchurova-Dekova (2016) and Bitner et al. (2023).
