Commentrya maximae
Taxonomy
Oedischia maximae was named by Brongniart (1894). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R51126, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (MNHN Brongniart coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic shale in the Commentry Shales Formation of France. It is the type species of Oedischiopsis, Commentrya.
It was recombined as Oedischiopsis maximae by Handlirsch (1919); it was considered a nomen dubium by Handlirsch (1906); it was recombined as Commentrya maximae by Lameere (1917) and Handlirsch (1922).
