Heuretus coriaceus was named by Schaufuss (1890). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, Danziger Naturkundemuseum Helm collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland. It is the type species of Heuretus.
