Aparimarhynchia was named by MacFarlan (1992) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis-l Tr Anis-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1068]. Its type is Aparimarhynchia dunrobinensis.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Praemonticlarellinae by Williams et al. (2002).
