Taxonomy
Apodosia was named by Smirnova and MacKinnon (1995) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo K Berr]. Its type is Argyrotheca lorioli. It is the type genus of Apodosiidae.

It was assigned to Apodosiidae by Smirnova and MacKinnon (1995); and to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
