Taxonomy
Calvinaria was named by Stainbrook (1945) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fras-l D Fras-u Sepkoski's reference number: 25,708]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Calvinariinae.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Calvinariinae by Williams et al. (2002).
