Deltarina was named by Cooper and Grant (1976) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 7]. Its type is Deltarina magnicostata.

It was assigned to Allorhynchidae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
