Taxonomy
Erymnaria was named by Cooper (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-l T Eo-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1]. Its type is Terebratula polymorpha. It is the type genus of Erymnariinae.

It was assigned to Erymnariidae by Cooper (1959); to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Erymnariinae by Williams et al. (2002).
