Taxonomy
Thecidellina alabamensis was named by Cooper (1988). Its type specimen is USNM 550815a, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is NW1/4 Section 12 in Henry County, which is in a Selandian carbonate limestone/siltstone in the Clayton Formation of Alabama.
