R. L. Squires 2013Shell fusiform. Last whorl about same height as spire. Teleoconch ornamented by axial ribs and commonly varices. Aperture elongate with open, short siphonal canal. Outer margin of aperture commonly elongate and can be pointed. Inner lip with callus continuing onto spire (toward apical end) to form narrow posterior canal on most genera. Outer lip can have distinct stromboid notch (Bandel, 2007, p. 124).
