Altisolepis elongignathus
Taxonomy
Peltoperleidus elongignathus was named by Bürgin (1992). Its type specimen is PIMUZ T.168, a partial skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Point 902, Monte San Giorgio, unspecified bed, which is in an Illyrian/Fassanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite/shale in the Besano Formation of Switzerland.
It was recombined as Altisolepis elongignathus by Mutter and Herzog (2004).
