Taxonomy
Herangirhynchia was named by MacFarlan (1992) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-u J Toar Sepkoski's reference number: 1068]. Its type is Herangirhynchia herangiensis.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rhynchonellinae by Williams et al. (2002).
