Taxonomy
Itaphlebia generosa was named by Novokshonov and Sukatsheva (2003). Its type specimen is PIN 4626/173, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Chernovskie Kopi (PIN collection 4626), which is in a Barremian terrestrial horizon in the Doronino Formation of the Russian Federation.
