Taxonomy
Idris was named by Foerster (1856). It is extant. It is the type genus of Idrini.

It was assigned to Scelionini by Ashmead (1893); to Idrini by Masner (1976); to Scelionidae by Szabó and Oehlke (1986) and Kononova (2003); to Scelioninae by Johnson (1992) and Talamas and Buffington (2015); and to Baeini by Murphy et al. (2007) and Chen et al. (2021).
