Lacunaerhynchia was named by Almeras (1966) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1027]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cyclothyridinae by Williams et al. (2002).
