Taxonomy
Lepidocycloides was named by Nikiforova and Andreeva (1961). Its type is Lepidocycloides baikiticus.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Rostricellulinae by Jin and Chatterton (1997), Williams et al. (2002) and Jakobsen et al. (2014).
