Taxonomy
Gemmarcula doddsae was named by Craig (1999). Its type specimen is WAM 78.4196, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is "Kayanaba", Dandaragan, which is in a Santonian offshore chalk in the Gingin Formation of Australia.
