Hardieopterus macrophthalmus

Taxonomy
Stylonurus macrophthalmus was named by Laurie (1892). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Gutterford Burn Eurypterid bed, Pentland Hills, which is in a Telychian offshore sandstone in the Reservoir Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Hardieopterus.

It was recombined as Hardieopterus macrophthalmus by Dunlop et al. (2013).
