Stoermeropterus conicus

Taxonomy

Stylonurus conicus was named by Laurie (1892). It is the type species of Stoermeropterus.

It was recombined as Stoermeropterus conicus by Dunlop et al. (2013).

Synonyms

Drepanopterus lobatus was named by Laurie (1899). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Gutterford Burn Eurypterid bed, Pentland Hills, which is in a Telychian offshore sandstone in the Reservoir Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Stoermeropterus conicus by Dunlop et al. (2013) and Dunlop et al. (2020).
Drepanopterus bembycoides was named by Laurie (1899). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Gutterford Burn Eurypterid bed, Pentland Hills, which is in a Telychian offshore sandstone in the Reservoir Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was synonymized subjectively with Stoermeropterus conicus by Dunlop et al. (2013) and Dunlop et al. (2020).
