Taxonomy
Pholidopleurus kochi was named by Stensiö (1932). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cape Stosch on Hold-with-Hope, which is in a Griesbachian marine siliciclastic in Greenland.

It was recombined as Australosomus kochi by Nielsen (1949) and Maxwell et al. (2021).
