Obsoletirhynchia was named by Shi (1992) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bath-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1027]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Kallirhynchiinae by Williams et al. (2002); and to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
