Taxonomy
Orthorhynchula was named by Hall and Clarke (1893) [Sepkoski's age data: O Cara-m O Ashg-l Sepkoski's reference number: 25 incorrectly originally spelled as Orthorhyncula in compendium]. Its type is Orthis linneyi. It is the type genus of Orthorhynchulidae.

It was assigned to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Orthorhynchulidae by Williams et al. (2002).
