Taxonomy
Palaeozygopleura (Palaeozyga) tenuicostata was named by Horný (1955). Its type specimen is NMP 34881, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Holyně Section in small quarry NE of Holyně and W of the Prastav Quarr, which is in an Eifelian carbonate limestone in the Daleje-Trebotov Formation of the Czech Republic.

It was recombined as Holopella tenuicostata by Sandberger and Sandberger (1855) and Holzapfel (1882); it was recombined as Palaeozygopleura tenuicostata by Fryda et al. (2013) and Wagner (2023).
