Taxonomy
Terebratula wiesti was named by Quenstedt (1871). Its type specimen is Geologisches Palantologisches Institute, Univ. of Tubigen, Germany, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Orbirhynchia wiesti by Owen (1988).
