Taxonomy
Tropeothyris vectis was named by Owen (1988). Its type specimen is BB82185, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gore Cliff, which is in a Cenomanian carbonate sandstone/chalk in the West Melbury Marly Chalk Formation of the United Kingdom.
