Taxonomy
Leioodes pygmaeum was named by Dunstan (1923). Its type specimen is GSQ 287, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Denmark Hill Insect Bed (Dunstan 1915-1916 collection), which is in a Norian pond siltstone in the Blackstone Formation of Australia.
