Taxonomy
Terebratula tamarindus was named by Sowerby (1836).

It was recombined as Zeilleria tamarindus by Douvillé (1916); it was recombined as Tamarella tamarindus by Owen (1965); it was recombined as Psilothyris tamarindus by Radulovic and Radulovic (2002).
