Taxonomy
Probolarina was named by Cooper (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than T Eo-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. Its type is Rhynchonella holmesii.

It was assigned to Basiliolinae by Cooper (1959) and Williams et al. (2002); and to Rhynchonellida by Sepkoski (2002).
