Asemoblatta glamorgana was named by Handlirsch (1920). Its type specimen is BGS 25412, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Clydach Merthyr Colliery, roof of Graigola Seam, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial shale in the Pennant Formation of the United Kingdom.
