Taxonomy
Haplospira variabilis was named by Koken (1897). It is not extant. Its type locality is Grässgård, which is in a Keila/Oandu carbonate limestone in the Chasmopskalk Formation of Sweden.
It was recombined as Holopea variabilis by Knight et al. (1960).
