Apion (Protapion) anderseni was named by Voss (1972). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Danish Amber (University of Copenhagen ZMUC, NHMD Collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Denmark. It is the type species of Baltoconapium.
It was recombined as Apion anderseni by Kuschel (1992); it was considered a nomen dubium by Legalov (2015); it was recombined as Baltoconapium anderseni by Legalov (2019).
