Pleurotomaria rotalia was named by Hall (1862). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Trepospira rotalia by Ulrich and Scofield (1897), Grabau and Shimer (1909), Prosser and Kindle (1913) and Foerste (1923); it was recombined as Angyomphalus rotalia by Rollins et al. (1971); it was recombined as Bembexia rotalia by Fraunfelter (1973); it was recombined as Trepospira (Trepospira) rotalia by Thein and Nitecki (1974); it was recombined as Denayella rotalia by Wagner (2023).
