Taxonomy
Scolopax hutchensi was named by Emslie (1998). Its type specimen is UF 165526, a limb element (left humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Inglis 1C, which is in an Irvingtonian sinkhole sandstone in Florida.
