Taxonomy
Thaumastosaurus wardi was named by Holman and Harrison (2002). Its type specimen is MSUVP 2013, a maxilla, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hatherwood Point, Headon Hill Locality, which is in an Eocene terrestrial claystone in the Headon Hill Formation of the United Kingdom.
